Serato unexpectedly switches to Internal mode.

Symptom and description

When using Serato, you may experience unexpected switches to Internal mode. This emergency mode prevents long tracks from stopping when you run out of vinyl or CD track. When the Internal mode is enabled, you won’t be able to control your tracks through the vinyls anymore.  

Issue resolution

If this happens, the first thing to do is to make sure your Phase firmware is up to date. Indeed, this issue has been fixed a while ago. If you’re already using the latest firmware version, this shouldn’t happen anymore, but if it does, a simple workaround exists.

Connect your Phase to your computer and launch Phase Manager. Click on the “Settings” button and select another DVS signal (Traktor Pro, for instance). Save and quit Phase Manager. Open Phase Manager again, then the settings, select Serato DJ in the dropdown menu, and save your settings. Serato should not abruptly switch to Internal mode anymore.
