Symptom and description
It may happen that in certain situations, you can loose control of your Phase while you're playing with Serato DJ Pro. When this happens, Serato DJ Pro will either stay on "WIR" mode, or switch to "INT" mode. In both cases, the Remotes won't control the DJ software anymore.
Issue resolution
This behavior could be due to a loss of USB communication between Phase and your DVS software.
If you have lost control of your Phase while performing, or experienced any similar kind of disconnection, we invite you to try the following troubleshoots, in this order:
- First, try to put the Remotes back into your Receiver and Pair them as shown below, to confirm this isn't a one time disconnection situation.
Then put the Remotes back on the Turntables and wait for the internal calibration to be complete (until the LEDs are still) before spinning the turntables. Finally, switch back to REL mode (or WIR mode if available with your setup to start controlling the software again.
-
If you’re still experiencing the same issue again, you can unplug your Phase and plug it again to the laptop. This should allow your software to recognize your unit again.
Note that every connection order should work, but it might happen that you have to unplug and re-plug your Phase to be detected by Serato on startup, in specific situations. To avoid issues, I advise connecting your Phase at the very end, and to start by connecting your mixer. Doing it this way should ensure a proper setup connectivity.
- Finally, if you're experiencing disconnections after checking the previous points, you can review your power settings using the following Serato articles, to make sure this doesn't come from a USB power management issue.
